Are You Paying Too Much for Your Argan Oil Hair Products?

Are You Paying Too Much for Your Argan Oil Hair Products?

Arganza Professional vs. Moroccan Oil vs. L’Oréal

Argan oil is all the craze in recent years, and for good reason. After personally investigating a few of the products on the market, I’ve come to my own conclusions about the endless benefits of argan oil. I discovered great products that do all the magic for amazing value and lower pricing than some of the other brands out there – and I mean it.

Made from the kernels of the argan tree common in Morocco, argan oil is known to promote healthy hair and skin. You’ll find this “liquid gold” ingredient in products sold by L’Oréal and Moroccan Oil. There is no doubt that the oil itself is beneficial to your hair and scalp. It moisturizes and hydrates the skin, it’s high in vitamin E, it makes your hair silkier and shinier, tames the frizz, and is great for styling. Its antioxidant qualities heal the scalp and reduces inflammation.

The question isn’t “Should you use argan oil?”, but rather “Should you be paying so much for it?”.

With my professional cosmetic blogger cap on, I was ready to roll thorough another cosmetic product investigation to compare products and prices, and boy, did I find a leading brand that provides just as many perks, (if not more), with way better cost-value ratio: Arganza Professional.

Let’s walk through the products and benefits step by step, taking a closer look at the ingredients, quantity, and price in argan oil products by Arganza Professional (my fave), Moroccan Oil, and L’Oréal. The results of my investigative research speak for themselves.

Argan Oil Shampoo

Argan Oil Shampoo Price ($) Quantity (oz) Price per ounce ($)
Mythic Oil Shampoo by L'Oréal 32 8.5 3.8
Moisture Repair Shampoo by Moroccan Oil 51.2 33.8 1.5
Argan Oil Shampoo by Arganza Professional 19.79 13.5 1.46

Bottom line: Listen, you are what you eat, right? So then whatever you consume or put on your body becomes a part of you. My question: do you really need chemicals in your shampoo? No. The shampoo by Arganza Professional is the cheapest option and it’s better for your hair because it is sodium chloride (salt) and paraben free, containing protective keratin for healthier hair. My opinion is try this one out, cut back on the cost and chemicals. Read more, and you’ll see why I love these guys over the others.

Argan Oil Conditioner

Argan Oil Conditioner Price ($) Quantity (oz) Price per ounce ($)
Mythic Oil Conditioning Balm by L'Oréal 32 6.7 4.8
Hydrating Conditioner by Moroccan Oil 51.2 33.8 1.5
Argan Oil Conditioner by Arganza Professional 20.69 13.5 1.5

Bottom line: So while Arganza Professional and Moroccan Oil are tied in price per ounce, the actual product, the conditioner itself, boasts massive benefits when looking at Arganza’s break down of ingredients. To name just a few perks, Arganza’s conditioner offers protective keratin, it’s tailored for dyed, straightened and chemically treated hair, perfect for thermal styling, and is sodium chloride free and paraben free. Now that’s a list of wins for conditioner and argan oil in one go.

Argan Oil Mask

Argan Oil Mask Price ($) Quantity (oz) Price per ounce ($)
Mythic Oil Rich Masque by L'Oréal 34 6.7 5.1
Smoothing Mask by Moroccan Oil 43 8.5 5.1
Argan Oil Hair Mask by Arganza Professional 24.29 8.4 2.9

Bottom line: Let’s not beat around the bush, friends: the difference in price here is staggering. Moroccan Oil and L’Oreal are tied at $5.1 per ounce, while Arganza Professional hair mask is only $2.9 per ounce! Not only is it by far the cheapest and best value option, but it is enriched with natural argan oil and protective keratin, and like all other products – is sodium chloride and paraben free. Bing! Benefits galore.

Argan Oil Leave-In Cream

Argan Oil Leave-In Cream Price ($) Quantity (oz) Price per ounce ($)
Mytic Oil Crème Universelle L'Oréal 37 5 7.4
Hydrating Styling Cream by Moroccan Oil 34 10.2 3.3
Argan Oil Hair Cream by Arganza Professional 23.39 10 2.3

Bottom line: Once again, the styling cream by Arganza Professional is the significantly cheaper option and prevails above others. It’s not only the better choice for your hair based on amazingly nourishing ingredients, like keratin, but yet again is free of harmful ingredients like parabens and sodium chloride.

Argan oil is a must in your hair care regime, but always make sure to take a closer look at the price and ingredients. Often, you’ll find that popular brand name products are too expensive and include ingredients that are harmful to your hair and scalp. From my experience as both a pro blogger and cosmetics addict, Arganza Professional offers products at the highest value when comparing prices and ingredients, making it the best choice for your hair and pocket.

* Note: Prices for L’Oréal were taken from Ulta, prices for Moroccan Oil from the brand’s website, and prices for Arganza Professional from Arganza website.
